We would like to provide you with some
information regarding the upcoming
Moses Lake School District Levy.
How might this new tax affect your wallet? The tax collection rate for this levy will be $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed value for 2019, 2020, and 2021. That is a decrease from the current, expiring levy. The current levy is $4.62 per $1,000 of assessed value from 2018. What does this tax money do for our schools and students? The levy tax helps fund programs such as counseling, music, arts, library and P.E. Safety and security including resource officers and school security is funded by the levy tax. Our health services including our district wide swimming lessons for all 5th grade students are also included. Activities and athletics, technology such as our 1:1 Chromebook initiative, ongoing maintenance of school and district facilities and school transportation and busses are all funded by the levy tax. We hope you will vote on April 24th. You can drop your ballot off for free in the ballot box behind the Civic Center.
